The 26 Standard Rudiments

Although the orginal 26 Rudiments can be traced to publications as far back as 1862, they weren’t truly standardized until N.A.R.D. voted on which rudiments should be included in 1936 (N.A.R.D. is an acronym for National Association of Rudimental Drummers).  N.A.R.D actually divided the 26 Standard Rudiments into two groups of 13: “The 13 Essential Rudiments”, and “The 13 Rudiments to Complete the 26 Standard American Drum Rudiments” – click HERE if you would like to learn more about NARD’s history.

Below, you can open/download separately the 13 + 13 rudiments delineated by NARD, or all of the now accepted 26 Standard Rudiments.
